Description
Community event with craft activities and performance by Sacred Sound, with talks from local historian and artists, to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the establishment of Cheetham Park. This event was the culmination of a series of activities supported by an AHRC Connecting Communities Festival grant which funded and showcased community festivals all over the country. It was also supported by the SALC/Faculty of Humanities Researcher in Residence scheme, which funded a PGT student, Jennifer Anison and and PGR student, Luciana Lang, to work with Torange Khonsari, Leverhulme Artist in Residence with the Manchester Jewish Museum. These included participatory workshops, walks and talks with local community members, to explore the memories of local residents of Cheetham Park, and to raise awareness of the participation and value the Park has for these communities.Period | 20 Sept 2015 |
