Description

The event brought together like-minded post-graduate students and experts to discuss the challenges of conducting theoretically informed social network research. The event consisted of opening and closing panel discussions on the role of social theory in social network research and on the future directions of the discipline, and two hands-on sessions on linking theory to empirical research, where participants and invited speakers engaged in a lively discussion. Invited speakers were: Dr. Elisa Bellotti and Prof Nick Crossley from the University of Manchester and Prof. Mario L. Small from Harvard University. The event was funded by a BSA small grant to post-graduate students.
