Description
We have poetry / so we do not die of history — Meena Alexander*
What can poetry do? Can writing poems help with writing more generally? Is writing poetry a form of research? We will explore these questions actively by reading two poems and writing two of our own. No previous experience is required, just a willingness to experiment with a form and practice that sometimes reveals the unexpected. There is no preparation required for the workshop, and prompts will be provided for the writing, which will draw on participants’ own research.
