Open research is not a new concept, and it involves many practices which postgraduate research students are not fully aware of or able to implement in their research. However, engaging in open research can be beneficial to the academic career of postgraduate research students and therefore this project aims to develop an open research implementation flowchart that shows the research journey of a typical engineering postgraduate research student. The proposed open research implementation flowchart will signpost the engineering student to relevant materials including the University of Manchester library resources that contain information about how to implement various open research practices.
