Description
The Summer school offered an immersive introduction and engagement with empirical bioethics (EB). We were an interdisciplinary and international cohort of researchers at various stages of our research journey. The Summer School was a wide ranging and rich series of discussions, presentations and conversations aimed at facilitating our understanding of EB and its various typologies. We explored the design of EB research projects, including the methodology and epistemology of integrating empirical data in to ethical analysis. The Summer school included talks from experienced empirical bioethics researchers about their own journey in(to) EB, who shared their 'lessons from the field,' and offered participants plenty of opportunities to present and discuss our own work. The Summer school fostered the formation of a supportive network of researchers from a range of disciplinary backgrounds with a common interest in the philosophy and practice of empirical bioethics.
