I presented a paper which noted the degraded state of the UK's public services after decades of neoliberal attack and discussed the consequences of this for people's ability to imagine better futures. The paper used theoretical ideas from the work of Herbert Marcuse and Walter Benjamin to think of a utopian future for these services.
