ESCR / NIHR Neighbourhoods & Dementia Study: involvement of people with dementia in research and dementia friendly community work and evaluation

Invited series of dementia workshops to the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre, University of Tasmania on the ESRC/NIHR Neighbourhoods and Dementia study, involvement of people with dementia in research and dementia friendly community work and evaluation. Presentations included an evening public lecture with simultaneous transmission on Facebook [the video reached 1,993 Facebook users and 401 users viewed the live stream/video],https://www.facebook.com/WickingDementiaCentre/radio interview and interview/article in the Mercury newspaper for Tasmania, published on the 30th June 2016. Filming on neighbourhood and dementia friendly community practice also took place for inclusion in the University of Tasmania’s Massive Open Online Course [MOOC] on dementia which is the largest of its type in the world with the highest completion rate: 44% as at 2015. The MOOC was completed by 70,000 students in 2015 from 126 different countries across the world. Visit coordinated through the Wicking Dementia Centre, The University of Tasmania.
