Activity: Talk or presentation › Invited talk › Research
Description
We were invited to give a talk at a local primary school as part of the "green energy day" curriculum, which aimed to educate the students about sustainability and the environment. Green End Primary School, located in Burnage in South Manchester, had planned an activity day where the children could try to generate their own low carbon energy, including solar and wind, and we were asked to give a presentation to kick start the theme. During the assembly, we discussed our work as University researchers looking at climate change, and highlighted the contributions of diverse researchers throughout history. We discussed ways the students could take action against climate change and answered some questions about the barriers to climate action.
