MiNESS 20-28 Research Advisory Group

Description

I convened a research advisory group consisting of researchers and women with experience of pregnancy loss between 20-28 weeks of pregnancy, and/or experience of normal pregnancy in order to shape a research programme examining modifiable risk factors for pregnancy loss in the late second trimester. We engaged in useful conversations regarding terminology for baby loss at this gestation, modifications to previous research study designs that could widen participation in the study and how to translate a previously face to face research design to be delivered virtually. The members of the research advisory group will work with me to develop an application to the NIHR Research for Patient Benefit funding scheme, and an associated funding application to run a parallel public engagement programme discussing modification of stillbirth risk in the parents of the future.
