Inspiring Language Communities is a multilingual community engagement initiative that partners international researchers with local communities based on shared language use. The aim is to increase the outreach opportunities for those whose first language is not English.

In this event, the staff and students of Faculty of Science and Engineering were invited to provide multilingual outreach at the Iranian Cultural Society for 9 to 16 year-old students. The Farsi-speakers involved were Dr. Maryam Malekshahian, an academic at department of Chemical Engineering, Dr. Ahmadreza Farrokhnia, a research associate, and Amirhossein Balali, a PhD student both at the department of Engineering for sustainability, Sahar Gholami from the department of Chemical Engineering, and Dr Zahra Khomarbaghi a research associate at the school of biological sciences.
