Description
Optometry in Practice is the Continuing Education (CET) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) journal of the College of Optometrists in the UK.
With a circulation of 10,500, and a reputation for publishing quality CET built over its ten-year history, this practice-based journal is distributed to all members of The College of Optometrists (including all pre-registration optometrists) as part of the College member benefits. Copies are also distributed to undergraduate optometry students via their university departments and available online for all members.
Optometry in Practice was launched in 1999 and is published quarterly. The articles are commissioned, authoritative reviews of key topics of practical relevance to optometrists in community and in hospital practice. It has developed a reputation for high quality CET which complements its association with the professional body - The College of Optometrists.
Articles are peer reviewed and well referenced. The CET response rate is 10-25% of the eligible readership for each article. Approximately 4 UK CET points are available from each issue. This is predominantly a journal for optometrists, although accreditation for contact lens opticians and dispensing opticians is often available. (From www.college-optometrists.org)
