Description
Submitted written evidence to the House of Commons' Public Accounts Committee for their inquiry on Preparedness for online safety regulation.Acknowledging potential harms that come with increased online activity, the UK government, via the Dept. for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) introduced the Online Safety Act in October 2023, with Ofcom appointed as regulator. This inquiry focused on the Preparedness of DSIT and Ofcom regarding the implementation of the new online safety legislation. In preparation for this inquiry, written and oral evidence was collected, including submission POS0007 which was written by M. Popa-Wyatt, with support of Policy@Manchester. Submission POS0007 is listed as Published written evidence (pg.18) within the House of Common / Committee of Public Accounts session report "Preparedness for online safety regulation, Thirteenth Report of Session 2023–24".
