    Description

Science Uncovered is a special late opening event hosted by the Manchester Museum which allows scientists to talk about and discuss their work with members of the general public in a relaxed social session. For the fourth time the museum was part of a Europe-wide event to bring in researchers to showcase different fields and disciplines over music, drinks and a lively atmosphere. The Manchester Institute of Biotechnology was represented at this event by Dr. Nick Weise as one of the invited short talks. He gave an introduction to enzymes and industrial biotechnology, as well as an overview of the ways in which enzymes can be produced and engineered in the laboratory for applications such as chemical manufacture, biofuels and therapeutics.
