Description
A simulation for the Institute of Teaching & Learning series of staff development workshops.
Through a simulation, this session aims to help staff: better understand students’ experience of transitioning into a new academic culture; and reflect on the (assumptions regarding) rules and norms of academic life.
The session includes: - a simulation (which originated in intercultural training); - a debriefing and reflection of the simulation; and - a discussion of the implications to be drawn from the simulation for supporting international (and other) students (and staff) with their transitions to academic life at Manchester.
