Description

As part of the ongoing collaboration between the Linguistic Diversity Collective and Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, a workshop was organised and delivered as part of the International Mother Language Day celebrations. It was designed and delivered by Dr. Tine Breban and Dr. Nick Weise.

The session went over the origins of some well-known biochemical terms as well as an introduction to biotechnology research at Manchester, with further etymology examples taken from sustainable biomanufacturing research. The session’s 20 participants then did an activity to research the meanings and origins of further before a plenary discussion.
