Description

This seminar series is designed for PhD students and early career researchers who study cities across the social sciences. Through conversations with scholars and practitioner-academics from The University of Manchester, The University of California Los Angeles, The University of Liverpool and The University of Hong Kong, the series explores the evolving nature of urban research—from digital methodologies and political engagement to community-led impact and enterprise. Each session highlights a distinct phase or practice within the research process, broadening participants' understanding of what it means to work as an urban researcher today. By centring practical experience and reflective discussion, the series offers valuable insights into the diverse roles and trajectories within contemporary urban scholarship.
