Description

Dr Miriam Stoppard on a new smartphone app which allows patients with rheumatoid arthritis to send their daily symptoms to their NHS health record, with the aim of transforming long-term treatment.

When I’m asked how I’ve been in the last six months I can remember very few details. Neither can patients asked the same question by their doctor.

To close this gap, Manchester University researchers are to trial a system where people living with rheumatoid arthritis send their daily symptoms to their health record, a first for the NHS. The Remote Monitoring of Rheumatoid Arthritis (REMORA) system allows patients to download an app tracking their symptoms to their smartphone or tablet and sign in at home via an NHS login.
