With next year’s census rumoured to be the last, as a result of growing costs, BBC Radio 5 Live [2:48:20] interviewed the University’s Dr Eloise Moss on the history of the census. Dr Moss explained the census’ origins in the Napoleonic Wars, and how it has become an invaluable tool to historians or people tracing family histories.
