Description

Youtube documentary (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4y-0BV-vvg). Abstract for this clip: "Every year farmers, volunteers and academics round up as many of the ancient Carneddau ponies from across 27,000 acres of mountainous terrain. Gareth Wyn Jones and his family used to wrangle them on horseback, now it's all done on foot, on motorbikes and quads. Some have accused this "Gathering" of putting these ponies under too much stress, however, most understand the importance of making sure they are fit and healthy to survive the harsh winter. We talk to Gareth about the logistic of this incredible feat and PhD student Jessica Irving about this rare animal and the possible welfare concerns some might have."
