DescriptionJonatan Pinkse, a professor of strategy at the University of Manchester, said the situation demonstrates how tackling the climate crisis does not always go hand-in-hand with improved living standards.

“The fact [energy prices] might slow down some climate developments is problematic. But fuel poverty is a problem as well,” said Professor Pinkse.

“Here is a very clear example of, if you really want to push for the environment, that will be costly and it will hurt – are you willing to do that?”
