A century on from women’s suffrage, it cannot be right that for just one group of people who have been here for years, contributing to our society and economy, we should continue to impose taxation without national representation. As Professor Rob Ford, the University of Manchester psephologist, puts it: “All those with a stake in political decisions, regardless of where they originally came from, should have a voice in those decisions.”
