    Historically important films shot of the evacuation at the end of May 1940 were discovered at The University of Manchester Library in 2015.

    The black and white footage captures key moments during Operation Dynamo and had never been broadcast before.

    The films were shot by Lieut Philip Roderick Hall who was serving aboard the destroyer HMS Whitehall, one of hundreds of naval vessels, merchant ships and small boats taking part in the rescue.
