MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS: The long-lost maps that tell the incredible story of Manchester

Press/Media: Research

Description

They're the unseen, rare and long-lost maps that shine a new light on the rich history of Manchester.

From the inner-city slums of the early 20th Century, to the construction of Maine Road and Old Trafford and and even a fictional depiction of Weatherfield, each tells a unique story of our city's development.

They've been collected by academics Martin Dodge, Terry Whyke and Brian Robson for a new book Manchester: Mapping the City.
