There is growing interest in the potential of making together in 
groups for creating feelings of connection and solidarity. In this 
short piece, we reflect on the Stitch Social events and Zine 
Making Workshops between December 2023 and June 2024, 
which aimed to connect and support researchers in the 
School of Environment and development, University of 
Manchester.
