A diverse team – including researchers from The University of Manchester,
 practitioners from Moors for the Future Partnership, landowners, the
Environment Agency and others – has come together to show how restoring peatlands can help protect communities from flooding.

This isn’t a linear research story. It’s one built on trust, collaborative design and iteration – where field researchers, modellers, restoration practitioners and policy partners learn together, adapt in real time, and share responsibility for turning research insights into decision-making.
