The Duchess of Sussex is said to have exclaimed in dismay after learning about the lack of black and female professors in British universities.

 

The Duchess said “oh my God” when she was shown a sheet of data published by a higher education charity showing that UK professors were overwhelming white males, said Dr Rachel Cowen.

Dr Cowen, who is Manchester University’s lead for equality, diversity and inclusion, pointed out the research from Advance HE that revealed 68 per cent of British professors were white men, 23 per cent white women.
