DescriptionGender Advancement through Transforming Institutions (GATI) is an exciting pilot collaboration between the British Council, Department of Science and Technology (Government of India) and AdvanceHE.

GATI aims to advance gender equality in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM) disciplines within higher education and research institutions in India. With support through Indo-UK partnerships, GATI will enable the co-development of action plans based on the Athena SWAN Charter contextualized to India, and develop networks for improved support for Indian women in STEMM. The University of Manchester is one of six UK institutions selected to partner with five Indian higher education and research institutions.
