This project presents the structure and functionality of a blockchain-based dynamic consent model that we are developing in order to determine the efficacy of blockchain technology in supporting genomic data sharing. Implemented on the Ethereum test blockchain, the model’s web-based portal allows patients to store and update their consent and track their data. Likewise, healthcare professionals can review and securely access patient data upon patient consent. All data transitions and sharing between participants are recorded in a tamper-proof manner, enabling data auditing at any time.
