Measurement of dijet cross-sections in photoproduction and photon structure

    Description

    DESY-HERA. Measurement of the cross sections for production of hard di-jetsin photoproduction events from collisions of 27.5 GeV positrons on 820 GeV prot ons. The data were taken during 1996 and have an integrated luminosity of 7.2 pb-1. The variable X(C=GAMMA), which is the longitudinal momentum fraction of the incident parton in the photon, is defined as:. X(C=GAMMA) = (ET(JET1)*EXP(-ETARAP(JET1)) + ET(JET2)*EXP(-ETARAP(JET2)) / (2*Y*E_e). Where Y is the energy fraction carried by the radiated photon and E_e is the electron beam energy.
