Description
This dataset contains the model outputs for all simulations except the mode 2 sensitivity studies.
Data file structure
The model output files are provided in the netCDF file format (.nc). The mode 2 sensitivity test investigated shallower (1.3 km) clouds with updraft speeds of 2 m s-1. The model output filename convection is as follows:
aerosol_temp_m2_#.nc
where aerosol (natural or nearcity) indicates the aerosol size distribution, temp (cold or warm) indicates the cloud base temperature, m2 refers to mode 2, and # is the freezing fraction of the mode 2 simulation.(see details below).
# refers to the freezing fraction of mode 2 :
05 0.5
03 0.3
01 0.1
001 0.01
0001 0.001
0.0001 0.0001
For example, natural_cold_m2_05.nc refers to a simulation of cloud with a depth of 1.3 km, updraft speed of 2 m s-1, with a natural aerosol size distribution and cloud base temperature of 0 °C and a mode 2 freezing fraction of 0.5.
