Description
This research provides a detailed examination of bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS), which is expected to contribute significantly to engineered carbon removals in alignment with global net-zero pathways. However, gaps remain in our understanding of the suitability of different types of BECCS for meeting mixed objectives. Using the Northwest of England industrial cluster as a case study, we examine five co-located BECCS supply chains, incorporating biomass evaluation, policy and regulatory considerations, and community perspectives.
