    Description

    High-powered fibre laser system. Coupled to a 6-axis Kuka robot with a selection of Precitec laser processing heads available (cutting, powder deposition, welding). Capable of cutting metallic materials of up to 25mm thickness and processing of 3D components and pipes.

    Research is focused on high speed, high quality remote laser cutting of nuclear reactor materials, including pipes for welding preparations. Also being utilised for investigation of laser cutting of vessels, pipes and concretes for nuclear decommissioning.
