Description
The Advanced Metal Processing technology platform includes a range of facilities that support all processing of metal related activity in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The majority of the activity is based in the Royce Hub Building as part of the Henry Royce Institute with additional facilities in the Nancy Rothwell Building.
The platform houses a wide range of equipment in the areas of thermomechanical processing, additive manufacturing, mechanical testing (including testing under a variety of environments), thermomechanical simulation/testing and heat treatment. With such a range of kit we are able to facilitate research and interdisciplinary collaborations with other technology platforms at the University of Manchester, other academic institutions and industrial collaborators.
Each facility is run by technical staff members supported by academic members of staff so as to provide a wealth of knowledge and experience to each user utilising the facility.
Please use the links below to explore the different equipment within the platform and do not hesitate to contact us regarding any questions you may have about capability to see if we are able to help.
