Description
The biophysical spectroscopy facility provides access to a range of spectroscopy and kinetics equipment. The facility is used to tackle many biological / chemical questions, including enzyme assays, understanding reaction mechanisms, chemical analysis, characterisation of (bio)materials, ligand binding assays, anaerobic reactions, photochemistry, redox chemistry, identification of new reaction intermediates, protein dynamics and interactions, and many others.
The facility has the following instruments available:

Circular dichroism spectrophotometer
FTIRs
Stopped flow spectrophotometers
Rapid quench flow
Laser flash photolysis
Ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopy (contact Sam Hardman)
