    Rheometers apply torque to twist a material (rotation or oscillation) and measures its response; from such experiments, the viscosity (visco-) and stiffness (elastic) of the sample can be calculated. These viscoelastic properties can be related to temperature, time, or frequency. Rheology is able to provide information such as viscosity, storage/loss moduli, flow behavior, elasticity and recovery of a material.
