This equipment, which is hosted by the Dalton Cumbrian Facility, is situated in Cumbria, not in Manchester.
Setaram LabsysTM Evo for Thermogravimetric (TGA)/Calorimetric (DSC) analysis coupled with a Hiden EGA Mass Spectrometer, delivering qualitative and quantitative information about thermal effects in materials in correlation with their structure and composition.
At DCF it is used to study the effects of radiation on polymers giving insight into effects of average polymer molecular weight, crystallinity and melting point and hydrophilicity of material among other material properties.
