Contribution to rapid international consensus guidelines for radiotherapy treatment during the Covid-19 pandemic to reduce risk to patients and staff

Public summary

Professor Illidge contributed to the International Lymphoma Radiation Oncology Group (ILROG) emergency guidelines for radiation therapy of hematological malignancies during the COVID-19 pandemic. The guidelines were published in May 2020 in order to reduce the risk of exposure to Covid-19 for patients and staff. Recommendations for alternative radiation treatment schemes were made with emphasis on maintaining clinical efficacy and safety whilst reducing the number of daily treatments required.
