Expert on the evaluation of asylum applications by Eritrean asylum seekers in Israel for the African Refugee Development Centre, one of the major organisations that give legal support to asylum seekers. I have been appointed to this position because of my long-term and continuing research in Eritrea and publications about political dynamics within the country provide a valuable additional dimension to the verification of refugee narratives. I could provide evidence that applicants were indeed Eritrean and thus had a right to protection (not Ethiopians, as claimed by the Israeli authorities).
