TULIPS :Talk, Understand and Listen for Inpatient Settings

Impact: Health and wellbeing

Narrative

The TULIPS study is evaluating a psychological intervention which aims to increase access to psychological therapy on acute mental health wards. Patients want access to a full range of treatments in inpatient care but the predominant treatment is medication with people having very limited access to therapy. Our research team has worked closely with service user/carers and inpatient staff to develop an intervention that is acceptable and feasible for our key stakeholders. The intervention is currently being trialled in an RCT across the UK.
