The TULIPS study is evaluating a psychological intervention which aims to increase access to psychological therapy on acute mental health wards. Patients want access to a full range of treatments in inpatient care but the predominant treatment is medication with people having very limited access to therapy. Our research team has worked closely with service user/carers and inpatient staff to develop an intervention that is acceptable and feasible for our key stakeholders. The intervention is currently being trialled in an RCT across the UK. Identifying barriers and solutions to delivering psychological therapy to mental health inpatients.
