Biography

After the completion of my MSc in Applied Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh, supported by a Chevening Scholarship from the British Government, I started my teaching career in Chinese at Durham University's Department of East Asian Studies. In 2006, I joined the University of Manchester as a Senior Language Tutor, playing a key role as one of the founding members of the Chinese Studies Programme. Over the years, I have not only taught Chinese language courses but have also contributed to content courses at both undergraduate (UGT) and postgraduate (PGT) levels.

After obtaining my PhD in Chinese Studies from Durham University, I have remained actively involved in research, participating in international conferences, publishing papers, reviewing manuscripts, and delivering talks at seminars in various universities. Beyond academia, I have undertaken a role in social responsibility by raising awareness of the Uyghur issue, not only among the university's student body but also within the broader public.

Before embarking on my academic journey in the UK, I served as an associate professor of linguistics at Kashgar University and had the privilege of being a visiting scholar at Beijing University.
