  • I teach an MA course, Introduction to Xinjiang (Uyghur) Studies, as a Directed Reading Unit upon request.
  • I also co-teach an MA course, Border Crossings-Comparative Cultures of Diaspora: the case of Uyghurs.

  • Contemporary Chinese language,culture and society, especially minority people and their languages in a majority culture (e.g. Uyghurs and Xinjiang in China)
  • Chinese language and culture contact (e.g. language-dialect-culture contact, Silk Road)
  • Chinese language teaching and learning (e.g. Chinese at levels 1-3)
  • Translation and interpreting (Chinese/Uyghur-English vice versa)
