Personal profile

Biography

I am a postgraduate researcher pursuing a PhD in Communication Disorders, studying " Risk and Protective Factors Influencing Deaf children's Spoken Language Development in the UK"

I graduated with distinction in 2018 from Birzeit University, Palestine, with a bachelor's degree in Audiology and Speech Therapy and a minor in Psychology. In 2021, I earned a Master’s in Advanced Audiology from University College London through a joint Chevening-Said Foundation scholarship, completing a dissertation on the development of the Palestinian Arabic sentence speech-in-noise test.

I have five years of clinical experience as a pediatric audiologist, specializing in hearing assessments and fitting amplification systems for children. Additionally, I have worked as a speech therapist, providing auditory-verbal therapy for children under four and supporting families from the time of diagnosis to help their childrens develop listening and spoken language skills. Therefore, I am committed to combining clinical expertise with innovative research to optimize outcomes for deaf children.
