Overview

Alessandro holds a Ph.D. in Mental Health & Wellbeing obtained at the University of Nottingham, an MSc in Mental Health Studies from King’s College, London. His research interests focus on behaviour change and risk factors for dementia prevention, and his recent work has focused on physical exercise for disease prevention. This area of research aims to promote the uptake and long-term engagement in physical activity and exercise of older people, to slow down motor function deterioration and reduce the risk of falling and hospitalisation. He trained in health policy and research at the World Health Organisation in Geneva where he was involved in the Quality-Rights initiative exploring examples of community-based and recovery-oriented services worldwide.
