Focused researcher with over 20 years research experience at the University of Manchester.  Able to interrogate national datasets and undertake complex statistical analysis, conduct thorough literature searches, disseminate research findings via oral presentations at local, national and international meetings to peers, academics and mental health professionals, and prepare manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed academic journals.  Research interests include suicide and homicide people with mental illness, particularly those with schizophrenia and the negative impact of problem alcohol and drug use.
