Overview

Alice La Porta's expertise focuses on Archaeology and Ancient Material Culture. After finishing her PhD in Palaeolithic Archaeology at the University of Exeter, she joined the University of Manchester for a postdoctoral position focused on Human and Cultural Evolution. Alice's research skills range from optical microscopy to experimental archaeology, including replicating and analysing ancient artefacts and production techniques. During her academic career, Alice has gained extensive experience in public engagement by organising and leading several outreach activities in collaboration with national and international museums and organisations. Alice has now joint the Henry Royce Institute for advanced materials as an Outreach Officer and is promoting a new calendar of activities and events for fostering skills, innovation, and research in advanced materials.
