Personal profile

Overview

I am a particle physicist working on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. I am interested in Future Circular Colliders and act as the spokesperson for the FCC-UK community. I am also the Head of the Particle Physics group at the University of Manchester.

My current research involves precision measurements in the Higgs and electroweak sectors using proton-proton collision data. These measurements test the predictions of the Standard Model (SM) of Particle Physics and constrain extensions to the SM that could explain the origin of the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the Universe and the nature of Dark Matter. I have a long-standing interest in Quantum Chromodynamics and occasionally work on particle physics phenomenology to help bridge the gap between experimental and theoretical particle physics.

I teach the third-year Particle Physics course and the third-year laboratory that uses ATLAS Open Data. I offer 2-3 MPhys projects each academic year that pursue new lines of research.
