Overview

My research focuses on transnational book and publishing history from the 19th century to the present day. I hold a PhD from the University of Manchester, where I mapped the negotiation of literary rights between Italy, Britain, and the US in the first half of the 20th century. I am interested in informal and professional networks fostering the circulation of texts in modern times (scholars, publishers, editors, literary agents, translators, authors’ societies), in the development of intellectual property law and modern authorship, and in the relationship between cultural diplomacy, propaganda and printed materials.
