Personal profile

Overview

I am a Research Associate in the Biostatistics Collaboration Unit. I work on a range of applied projects and have particular expertise in the analysis of observational data.

Prior to my current role, I completed a PhD at the University of Manchester. This focussed on statistical methodology for the analysis of observational data, specifically primary care databases, to identify and evaluate markers associated with differential treatment response. I am continuing to develop my methodological research in this area.

I am the unit lead for the Statistics module in the postgraduate MClinRes Clinical Research and co-supervise two PhD students in the Division of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work.

My main research interests are as follows:

  • Subgroup/interaction analyses in both randomised controlled trials and observational studies
  • Causal inference in observational studies
  • Statistical applications in Nursing and Midwifery
