Personal profile
Research interests
My research investigates the linkages between science and technology with an intention to uncover scientific knowledge base in green technologies.
Impact
The potential results of my research including understanding the knowledge flows cross fields of science in green technologies. They add to ongoing discussions in science and technology policy, exploring the question of whether science has the potential to drive the advancement of emerging technologies. This, in turn, could suggest potential research avenue.
Overview
My research investigates the dynamics of knowledge creation, diffusion, and application across the boundaries of science and technology, with a particular focus on AI, green and sustainable innovation. The potential outcomes of my research include a deeper understanding of how knowledge flows across scientific fields in the development of technologies. These findings contribute to ongoing debates in science and technology policy, particularly concerning the extent to which scientific research can drive the advancement of emerging technologies. This line of inquiry also opens up promising avenues for future research on knowledge ecosystems and innovation trajectories.
I also view myself as a metascientist, studying science itself as an evolving system of knowledge production and exchange. My work sits at the intersection of data science, scientometrics, and innovation studies. I have practical experience as a Data Scientist, with expertise in writing codes in cloud-based computational platform such as Databricks using PySpark, and the deployment of advanced analytics solutions. My technical proficiency extends to the application of innovative data science methodologies, including natural language processing (NLP), social network analysis, and machine learning, to train data, predict outcomes and examine patterns of data and relationships of my variables.
My current and prospective research interests include:
-
AI-accelerated knowledge diffusion and dissemination between science and technology, using bibliometric data, advanced text analysis, and machine learning to enhance the flow of insights across research and innovation domains
-
Strategies for knowledge co-evolution between science and technology in tackling societal challenges, supported by data-driven insights into mission-oriented research investments
-
Predictive modelling for climate change mitigation technologies, employing Random Forest and other machine learning techniques to identify promising scientific and technological trajectories that can accelerate sustainable transitions
-
Gender and inclusivity in scientific and inventive activities, analysing the role of diversity in shaping innovative outcomes and equitable participation in research and development
My doctoral research, all in all, explores the dynamic interplay between scientific knowledge and technological innovation, particularly within the domain of green technologies. This work provides empirical insights into the mechanisms by which science contributes to technological advancement and environmental sustainability.
In addition to my research, I have developed hands-on teaching experience during my doctoral studies at the University of Manchester. As a Teaching Assistant for the undergraduate module Database Systems in the Department of Computer Science, I led lab tutorials and provided project support to students working on relational database design and query development. This experience strengthened my ability to communicate complex technical and analytical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
