Overview

Belay is a Research Associate/Biostatistician in the Centre for Epidemiology Versus Arthritis. Belay obtained his Master’s degree in Biostatistics from Jimma university, Ethiopia and his PhD in Statistics from Hasselt University, Belgium.  Belay had provided statistical support for several projects including Cloudy with a Chance of Pain, QUASAR, and opioid safety. He is currently working on the Assembling the Data Jigsaw program as a Statistican.  

Belay's methodological interests includes Bayesain inference, causal inference, multilevel/longitudinal data analysis, and modelling of complex time-to-event data (e.g., frailty model, multistate model, joint modelling, etc).
