Biography

Bharati is a PhD researcher in Civil Engineering at the University of Manchester, where her work focuses on the development of low-carbon cementitious materials for sustainable construction. Her research investigates the durability performance of MgO–SiO₂ binder systems, with particular emphasis on their application in reinforced concrete and their long-term behaviour under carbonation and steel corrosion.

Bharati has research experience across both academia and industry-linked projects. She was involved in a collaborative project with NEOM, where she has worked on the development and characterisation of brine-based concrete formulations using advanced experimental techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
